I have been covering Infinity Nikki since its launch in early December 2024, and the road from 2025 to 2026 has been anything but smooth. Infold has now confirmed that Version 2.5 will launch on April 23, 2026, bringing the second half of the Itzaland chapter to players. I remember the first five months after release, when consistent updates and fair gacha mechanics earned the game a lot of goodwill. That all changed in late April 2025, when Version 1.5 arrived with the removal of a beloved prologue, a controversial dye system, and severe technical problems. What followed was a long, slow effort to rebuild trust.

A New Northern Zone
Version 2.0, released in December 2025, was a turning point. It introduced Itzaland, a new region in Miraland, along with archery and a combat version of Mira Crown called the Merit Arena. That patch brought back many players who had left during the Version 1.5 era. Version 2.0 also delivered the first five chapters of the Itzaland story. Now, Version 2.5 is set to add the rest. The centerpiece is a new northern map expansion called the Boneyard. Infold describes it as a gloomy but whimsical landscape littered with dragon bones and ancient ruins. It will be accessible from the northern edge of the current Itzaland map.

The Boneyard also brings a new Ability Outfit to Infinity Nikki. The Dragonbone Master outfit will let Nikki summon dragon bones to solve puzzles. She can even ride those bones like a surfboard. That sounds strange in the best possible way, and it fits the more experimental tone that Itzaland has already established.
The Story and the Parksolians
Version 2.5 may not be the final map expansion for Itzaland, but it is expected to close out the Main Quest. Nikki will journey into the Boneyard to continue her hunt for Medael. While Version 2.0 centered heavily on the Shroomlings, this patch gives the Parksolians a chance to take the spotlight. They are dragon-like humans with blue horns and scales. I am curious to see how their culture and history are woven into the Boneyard, especially because the region is built around dragon remains.
New Outfit Banners
The banner lineup for Version 2.5 is already generating discussion. A new 5-Star Archer outfit will feature a skeletal valkyrie theme. A 5-Star Bug-Catching outfit will go in a more ethereal, floral direction. Notably, the Bug-Catching outfit will be paired with a 4-Star Whimsicality outfit with a knightly theme. That lets players put together a more armored look for Nikki if they want something less delicate.
| Outfit Banner | Rarity | Theme |
|---|---|---|
| Archer outfit | 5-Star | Skeletal valkyrie |
| Bug-Catching outfit | 5-Star | Ethereal and floral |
| Whimsicality outfit | 4-Star | Knightly armor |

Merit Arena and Styling Contests
Infold is also expanding the Merit Arena in Version 2.5. Seven new combat challenges will be available in the coming weeks. That should give dedicated players a fresh set of goals after the initial story content is cleared. In addition, the patch promises long-requested features such as styling contests between other Nikkis. For a game built around fashion and customization, that feels overdue. It could add a new layer of social competition beyond the existing co-op and dressing features.
A Cautious but Hopeful Community
Nearly a year has passed since the Version 1.5 backlash, and the community has settled into a state of cautious trust. I have seen that shift firsthand. Players are no longer assuming the worst with every patch, but they are still watching closely. Version 2.5 includes technical improvements alongside the new content, which suggests Infold learned from the painful launch of Version 1.5. The Boneyard expansion, the Dragonbone Master ability, the new banners, and the expanded Merit Arena all point toward a patch that wants to reward returning players rather than test their patience.
Version 2.5 is scheduled to launch on April 23, 2026, with maintenance concluding at 20:00 UTC-7. I will be keeping an eye on the Boneyard, not just because it looks visually striking, but because it may finally close a story chapter that began with so much promise back in December 2025.
